This is the official cinematic trailer for The Hunt, a 3D animated horror short film that follows a group of soldiers lost in the forest who have to confront the traumas of their past and the mysterious forces that are pursuing them. The Hunt is an international co-production between COLA Animation, Studio Kimchi, Studio Unkai, and Blauw Films. This preview showcases the film's tense atmosphere and distinct visual style, which can be experienced in cinemas during its global festival circuit.
The narrative forces the isolated unit to directly confront both the acute psychological traumas of their past and the mysterious, hostile forces actively pursuing them through the woods. To visualize this dreaded world, the team combined stylized 3D animation, dense matte paintings, and atmospheric cinematic lighting setups. The project was built on the principles of "Guerilla Animation". It utilizes decentralized, global collaboration among top-tier artists to avoid traditional studio bottlenecks, allowing creators to produce high-end CG-animated films at a fraction of the cost.
