The Blue Giant

We've been working hard on realising our vision for our short sci-fi film Syntactic Labyrinths. This space film requires us to make many different planets and by approaching each one of them in a physically accurate way, you'll get solid results. Neptune is a beautiful gas-giant. The furthest planet from our Sun in our Solar System. We can make use of the Corona Volume material to scatter the sunlight into the planet's Texture map.

In this tutorial we will be going over how to use the Corona Volume Material with a bright white Absorption color and a Neptune Texture map as a Scattering output. We will be covering how to generate a realistic looking atmosphere for this planet. We will also cover some basic compositing techniques in After Effects including some Post-processing and Color Correction.
