A first official look at the Hazmat suit in Syntactic Labyrinths! We're veryy excited to share this with all of you :)
For those who have been following Blauw Films for longer, you have seen glimpses of the Syntactic Labyrinths world come to life over the years.
And the Hazmat suit, for the characters living in the Settlement of Babylonia, has always been a very complicated design to get right.
Not only from a pattern drafting perspective, but also from the perspective of sourcing the right fabric materials.
Which is why we're incredibly happy to be collaborating with Bakermat Antwerp and their Virtual Library of fabric scans.
The hazmat suit is the final uniform for the inhabitants of the Settlement of Babylonia after Phaeton's Flare.
The utmost care and attention is given to the fabrics developed and chosen for the suit.
For this reason we are happy to incorporate the waxed cotton fabric from designer Jan Jan van Essche into the suit—which reflect the naturalistic approach of the film and human enhancement to design and environments.
Another shoutout to Quinten Schaap for supporting our project at Blauw Films :)
