I love staring at the rings of Saturn. And in rendering I try to imagine what it must feel like to float in the vast emptiness of space with this mega-planet thousands of km in the distance.
There is a scene in Syntactic Labyrinths where The Library passes Saturn. And in the several shots I want to truly visualise the sense of scale.
It’s honestly no easy task as there is very little relative scale in the environment. But with practice I’ve come to find more and more compositions that work.
