Syntactic Labyrinths is honestly the project that kickstarted Blauw Films into what it is today.
A science-fiction short film, way too ambitious for us in 2018, about the preservation of mankind's knowledge. Not the preservation of our species in a physical form. No. A metaphysical representation of us all.
I specifically remember talking with Erick Alcaraz and Michael Wood about starting a sci-fi film.
"A photorealistic space epic—made independently..."
I also remember speaking to a buddy of mine who said "If it's not as good as Interstellar, I'm not watching it.".
These core ambitions together with reading "The Library of Babel" by Jorge Luis Borges were all the spark we needed.
We embarked on a 7+ year journey—that's still ongoing, in which Syntactic Labyrinths was born.
We developed the story and the world it lives in. Then we started collaborating with wonderful talent from all over the world. And finally we started partnering with incredible companies that could bridge the gap between our ambition and making it a reality.
If you've been following Blauw Films for longer, Thank you!
Your engagement with us keeps us alive in so many ways! If you're new here, Welcome!
