Syntactic Labyrinths

An odyssey begins — from Earth to the Andromeda Galaxy…

Syntactic Labyrinths, our science fiction world-building project, is ever evolving—and we’re inviting you to take your first step into this cryptic narrative.

This passion project started many years ago with the ambition of bringing a transcendental science fiction film to life that was equal parts technical mastery as creative entertainment.

To explore the development of Syntactic Labyrinths we’ve started a series on our YouTube channel in which — you’ll learn about the project, the story, the library adrift in space and catch a glimpse of a universe where thought itself bends time and structure.

Ambitious projects require us to expand outside of our comfort zone. For this project we realised early on that we had to build strategic partnerships on both the technical, creative and resource front.

We've been incredibly blessed with the partners for Syntactic Labyrinths, who each bring their own expertise and benefits to the table.

First we've partnered with Chaos Group — and their Partners in Art Program — to bring the 3D animation to life at the highest level of realism.

To bring the world of the Settlement of Babylonia to life we established additional partnerships for Assets, Research & Development and Technical support.

These partnerships include IBM, Boijmans van Beuningen, Bakermat Antwerp and NASA.

This is the foundation of a new narrative: a 3D animated project shaped by deep philosophy, speculative science and contemplative visual storytelling. With every image, sound, and sequence, we’re constructing a meditative myth for a future beyond language.

Part of Syntactic Labyrinths, a sci-fi 3D animated short film by Blauw Films exploring isolation, cosmic scale, and the inner psyche. The character’s reflective visor and ID badge hint at identity and mystery amidst the void.
